Koochi Modhero Travel System Review

I remember thinking life with two children would be a breeze. I used to think it would be easy, that I would be the ultimate mother of two (whatever that is). I used to imagine that I would be taking long walks in the sunshine, me pushing the baby and Eva holding my hand. It was going to be great.

Parenting two children is hard.  Eva wanted my attention more than ever and I struggled to split myself in two. In fact going anywhere with the two kids took a lot of adjustment. Car travel was a chore. Popping them both in a car seat and then when we arrived, trying to get them both out and get the pushchair out of the boot was always a military mission. In the end I quite often opted to baby wear with Ophelia which wasn't always the easiest option when we were on long days out.

Those long walks I dreamt about were nothing like I had anticipated. It wasn't so bad in the first couple of months but as soon as Ophelia started to realise that there was always mummy and Eva, we had trouble. At the time I only had a one direction facing pram which faced the world and not myself. As soon as we would make our way out of the front door Ophelia would start crying. When Eva started school, Ophelia would cry all the way there and all the way back. She just wanted to be able to see us both. I'm sure it's cause she felt like she was missing out.

Then the lovely people at Koochi got in contact with me and asked me if I wanted to test their new travel system, The Modhero. The name already caught my attention. The Modhero. Was this going to be my new hero and make my active life easier? Of course, I said yes.

Koochi are a fantastic brand who want to encourage parents to go on adventures with their children. Their range is designed to aid an active lifestyle and their prints are adventurous and modern. All of their prints inspire you to think of exotic places and travel. In fact they are all named after places around the world.

The modhero comes in two prints, Java (bright and multi-coloured) and Saigon (grey and white). I opted for the Saigon although I did really like the Java too.

The Modhero comes with a car seat,  carrycot, footmuff, a raincover and a seat unit that can be used in two directions, suitable from birth. It has everything you would need. The only thing you need to buy as extra is the iso-fix base if it is compatible with your car.

My favourite feature which has had a huge impact on our lives is the parent facing seat unit. Ophelia is so much happier facing me and she can still see everything behind me too. The unit is very easy to pop in and out of the base and is adjustable from flat to upright with a simple push of a button.

The unit can also be world facing but Ophelia is still not too keen on that. I'm sure she will be as she gets older so it's great that we have both options.

There is a hood which has an SPF50+ which can be swapped between seat and carrycot. It is a long hood, however when the sun is low in the morning it still shines in Ophelia's eyes.

The Modhero is surprisingly lightweight. When you look at it, it seems large and bulky but it's actually quite the opposite. I am able to lift it up and down and whilst we were in London, hubby was able to carry it around the tubes and the stairs whilst Ophelia was still in it.

I quite regularly do food shopping after the school run and it has been such a relief to be able to place the bags under the pram instead of carrying them. The basket is large. It's the largest one i've ever had on a pram and even has an insulated section to keep things cool or warm-perfect. theres also another basket on the back of the seat unit for bits and peices, It's such a handy feature for a busy parent.

The travel system handles really well. It's easy to manoeuvre and in fact every day I am able to push it around one handed whilst I take the dog for a walk. This is something i've never been able to do before as i've never had a pram with a bar as a handle.

It is super easy to put up and down and change between a car seat, seat or carrycot. The base folds down in two easy manoeuvres. You start by folding the handle bar down and then the base. It is honestly the easiest one i've ever used.
We've used it in the city, on long country walks and at the beach. It is suitable for all kinds of terrain and even has some slight suspension to smooth out those bump.
It's very compact and fits nicely into our boot, leaving plenty of room for other bits and pieces.

I've also been able to attach a buggy board to the pram. It's great as Eva can stand on and enjoy the read. She stands in front of the bar so she's more secure.

There is a little strap on the pram which Eva holds on to when she's walking with us. It's a really handy feature.

Overall I am so happy with the Modhero. I've been using it for a few months now and it has made my active lifestyle much easier. We now have a happy mum and a happy baby.

You can buy the Modhero here for £589.95, Koochi Modhero. It comes with a great 4 year guarantee too.

Keep your eyes peeled for my youtube video showcasing the Modhero which is coming soon.

*Thank you to Koochi for providing us with the Modhero in exchange for our honest opinion*

  9. This looks like such a good pram and I love the fun print! I am currently expecting our second child and we're currently having the discussion about what to do with prams/babywearing/travelling around with two children in tow. I think it's going to be a juggling act, but with prams like the Koochi Modhero life can be made easier :)

  10. A pram that was suitable for outdoors - walking through the park, going a little off piste- was absolutely essential for me. I've never heard of this brand before. Looks like the travel system is perfect. Plus, the print design is so different!

  19. Finding a travel system that works just right for you is an utter minefield. My girls were born close together, and I struggled to find the right solution. I love that the designs today are so well thought out, weight wise, practical and attractive. Great to have something that has a good lifetime on it.

  28. Being a Mum of 2 is really tough. I think girls might even be more challenging as they can be competitive with each other. I find getting out and about with my kids is the best way to keep them entertained. I really like this brand too and we've had their strollers in the past

  30. That sounds like a brilliant travel system. Ophelia must be thrilled on walks now. And it sounds like they've thought of everything with the big baskets and handle for Eva. And such a great colour you opted for too!
