This year we are hoping to make some home improvements to our house. We live in a townhouse and our kitchen and living room are on our middle floor. The bottom floor has a utility room, downstairs toilet, toyroom and a garage (which we can’t access from inside the house).
Our big plan is to convert the whole of our downstairs into an open plan kitchen and living room. We would then have an extra bedroom and snug/toyroom on our middle floor. We would also like to convert our attic into either a bedroom or an office space.
We’ve already had plans drawn up and collected quotes but the cost doesn’t just end at structural work. We have to factor in furnishings etc.
Living in a townhouse is surprisingly dark. We don’t get a lot of light in our house and therefore getting light in is a top priority when we make our home improvements. We are aiming to have a lot more windows.
I have been looking around at VELUX blinds. I have found some fab ones on www.roofblinds.co.uk. They have a great range with blinds to suit various sized windows in a large colour range.
If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you will know how much of a Disney mad family we are. There are actually Disney VELUX blinds available to purchase. I think the princess one would be perfect for Eva’s room. It’s also a blackout blind which is essential for children.
Do you have any tips on how to get more light into your home? Do you have blinds in your house?
