Fed Is Best

Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
There's something I need to get off my chest,
Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
Let's put this debate down to rest.

Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
Formula, expressed or from the breast,
Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
No matter how you do it, you are blessed.

Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
This debate causes people to be depressed,
Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
Let's support one another instead of getting stressed.

Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
However you do it, I am impressed,
Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
Ladies let's remember it's not a contest.

Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
I'm sorry that I may have digressed,
Fed is Best, Fed is Best,
Now let's put this debate down to rest!!

  1. I feel the same. I feel sad when i see all the things about breastfeeding. I wanted to but couldn't as much as i tried and had no milk and so I formula fed and yes fed is best.

  2. I feel exactly the same there is no right or wrong way as long as u and ur child are happy.I really struggled to breastfeed with my son and did mixed feeding for the first 4 weeks before moving on to formula as I was in too much pain and unhappy.

  3. Of course! You need to do whatever works for you and your family, always! Xx

  4. I 100% agree with this, there's no right or wrong way of doing it. As long and your baby is happy and healthy, how they are fed really shouldn't matter. xx

  5. Definitely agree. Whatever you feel best with and you have a happy baby :) x

  6. Totally agree. Both my pair were formula fed from day one. A happy mummy is a happy baby

  7. Completely agree. I breastfed both of mine and was pretty determined to. But completely disagree when people say bottle feeding is the lazy option - breastfeeding is as you just have to sit there!

  8. I don't have kids so I can't say this from a personal point of view but I agree that it's about being comfortable and happy as to what you decide to do x

  9. Couldn't agree more! Everybody to their own. I just don't understand why some people still get hung up over this issue, barmy buggers lol. Merry Christmas to you and your family xx

  10. Absolutely! As someone who couldn't breastfeed I get very annoyed at having Breast is Best shoved in my face.

  11. Exactly. Why can't we support other mums in what they choose to do.

  12. I couldnt agree more. I hate the way some people especially midwifes look in disgust at you when you say you want to bottlefeed.

  13. This is so true and I say this to all my friends. As long as the baby is happy and healthy and mummy is 'sane' than that's great. There is no right or wrong.

  14. Quite. I have always been of the opinion that it is a choice thing. It's about nuture, simple.

  15. Support is what is needed, whatever the mum's decision.

  16. However they are fed is best, you do your best at the end of the day. So I 100% agree with you

  17. I agree, it's crazy that there is all this pressure on new mums and this debate is still on-going. As long as the baby is fed, there really is no issue!

  18. Yes! It's such a frustrating debate that's unfortunately fuelled by media. Healthy baby is a fed baby.

  19. It doesn't matter how they are fed, but that they are fed. I think each to their own, what people want to do they can do. x

  20. I agree, if you breast feed that is fine and if you formula feed that is fine too. I don't know why some people make this an issue.

  21. Sometimes mums don't have a choice so why not support one another! Either way the babies grow up to be good humans :)

  22. I agree totally, although I do think everyone should at least try to breastfeed at first but each to their own

  23. Nice poem. I dont agree personally but I did enjoy reading your poem.

    2. I think more along the lines of breast is best, fed is the minimum requirement and formula is second best. How other people choose to feed their baby is no concern of mine though but that's how I see it for my baby. I'm not anti formula, my eldest two had it but only after I'd exhausted every possibility to breast feed them. In my case, even though I couldn't breastfeed them as long as I wanted to, breast was still the best option for them. I think that so long as each mother researches and makes an informed decision then that is their choice and I am happy to support them in that.

  24. Brilliant. You're so talented! Fed IS best. I did breast feeding, then expressed only for a long time and then moved onto formula. I still felt initial pangs of guilt (?), but I gave myself a talking to and wholeheartedly agree that fed is best! 😘

  25. Great poem, people should not be made to feel guilty about their choices

  26. I do think breast is best (and all the science backs that), but fed is much better than not fed. What saddens me though is the lack of support available for mums struggling with breastfeeding and the lack of information about the support available.

  27. Couldn't agree more. Too much pressure is put upon us mums

  28. I absolutely love this #fedisbest, there are so many women who would have loved to breastfeed and couldnt then some who might not have wanted to but did because of the stigma.

  29. I really like this. It's a personal thing and important for women to be supported to make the right choices for them.
