My Love of Street Food

If there is one thing that Cardiff completely excels at as a city then it's their street food. The street food scene is huge and continues to grow with plenty of pop ups, markets, festivals and food focused tents. When you see new trailers and diesel generators making their way through the city centre you know something new is coming.

Street food has come a long way. It's now not all about fast food such as burgers but the variety of each cuisine and the use of healthy options make street food a family affair. Lots of the pop ups in Cardiff leave you spoilt for choice. We've taken Eva to food pops up many times and she loves wandering around, sampling everything.

Street food is a great way of trying out new cuisines and drinks that maybe you wouldn't have tried before.

One of our favourite places to go is 'street food circus'. There are plenty of trailers to choose from and it's all very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is great and very relaxed. We are desperate to have a date night there but need to find a babysitter first.

Another thing I love about street food is that some of my favourite restaurants in Cardiff now join in all the pop ups. There is an amazing restaurant called the Purple Poppadom which frequently create mouth watering indian street food. I adore indian food so it's great to see and taste it in many different forms.

Also the complete opposite of what I just said is that a lot of the local street food vendors have now also set up their own restaurants.

Do you like street food? Do you have lots of pop ups in your city?

**This is a collaborative post**

  1. I know Cardiff have a street food festival and I've been meaning to go overtime I've seen it advertised, but I just haven't got around to it yet! I wonder if the food would be suitable for children?! Fab post xx

  2. You have certainly whetted my appetite and will be trying.out.this next.opportunity. a great blog with great ideas. Thanks

  3. I love street food, especially when travelling abroad (although of course you also have to be careful of what you eat!). I guess that's also one of the reasons why I love farmer's markets! There's one in Bude which is nearby and I love visiting just for that reason ;)
